The Drake Equation was conceptualized by Sander Travissano and Peter Bartsocas when the two moved into a Brooklyn apartment together with their respective girlfriends. Upon their first 3 days there, they recorded and mixed, while improvising the theme, for what became New York Life. The chemistry was instant and so were the recordings. A lot of one take shots and fresh ideas laid to hard drive a.s.a.p. kept the flow fresh. After the initial juice flowed, Sander moved away for a while and Peter just continued to write stuff that could be considered part of the same collective.
